Presido County Attorney, Rod Ponton, made a surprise statement when he turned up to a civil forfeiture hearing via Zoom with a cat filter over his face.
NBC News reports that 394th Judicial District Court Judge, Roy Ferguson, tried to help Ponton turn off the filter. Ponton said he was prepared to proceed, regardless of facial form.
Judge Ferguson took to Twitter to share the clip, saying “These fun moments are a by-product of the legal profession’s dedication to ensuring that the justice system continues to function in these tough times. Everyone involved handled it with dignity, and the filtered lawyer showed incredible grace. True professionalism all around!”
