5th-generation beef producer returns to ranch with passion, commitment to excellence

Dan Larson jumped right into studying genetics and the Angus Journal when he returned to take the reins at Larson Angus Ranch. Sixteen years later, this 5th-generation rancher raises 800 cows with the help of his wife and son.

Economics and a newfound passion for beef production led Dan Larson back to the family ranch. This 5th-generation rancher jumped right into studying genetics and the Angus Journal.

Since taking the reins at Larson Angus Ranch in 2007, with the help of his wife, Kyla, and their son, Brady, they are bringing up a fifth generation on the land as well as growing the farm to 800 cows.

Larson says building the perfect cow takes constant adjustments to the plans they lay out. That’s why cow work, genetic improvements, and breeding plans are on the table for hours in their home.

The Larsons are working on a masterpiece that moves their families and customers closer to the “best” every day. That commitment to excellence is what is driving them to success.
