One of the world’s largest dairy companies announced plans to cut methane emissions from its milk supply.
French company Danone says it hopes to cut emissions 30 percent by the end of the decade, which is roughly 1.2 million tons of carbon dioxide.
The company hopes to make the cuts by working with its nearly 60,000 farming partners on regenerative practices. This comes after a 2021 UN Climate Summit where more than 100 countries pledged to cut emissions by 2030.
