An Idaho Winter to Remember: While others are planting, some are shoveling snow

The calendar says it is spring, and planters are rolling across the country, but not everywhere.

The Idaho Farm Bureau caught up with Jim Parker, a farmer in Bear Lake County, who says it’s been an absurd winter.

Amid all of this cold concern, a University of Idaho professor warned the crop most susceptible to freezing is winter barley, which has no cold tolerance.
