INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (RFD NEWS) —National FFA Organization CEO Scott Stump has been inducted as an honorary member of Purdue University’s Alpha Gamma Rho chapter.
Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) is a national social and professional fraternity focused on developing leaders in agriculture, food, and related industries. Stump called the recognition an honor and acknowledged the friendships he has built through AGR and the organization’s role in shaping future leaders, just like FFA aims to do.
“It’s an incredible honor to be inducted as an honorary member into this high-standing organization at Purdue,” Stump continued. “Institutions like Alpha Gamma Rho play an important role in shaping leaders in agriculture, and I’m grateful to join this brotherhood of men who are passionate about advancing the future of our industry.”
The fraternity has strong ties to FFA, with members who include former sponsors and donors to the National FFA Foundation and FFA’s Board of Trustees.
Stump also joined RFD’s FFA Today to discuss the significance of the honor and what’s ahead for the organization.
“So many of our FFA members find their way into AGR chapters, and it really extends that learning of leadership, personal growth, and career success that we provide in FFA,” Stump said. “Many of those individuals have stepped into agribusiness and agriculture leadership roles across this country. I’m so pleased to be a part of the chapter.”
He also shared encouragement for students currently participating in FFA state conventions.
“Each one of the students are being able to show off what they’ve learned in the classroom, what they’ve mastered in their own skills outside of the classroom in the career and leadership development events, and they’re hearing from motivational speakers. It’s a great pick-me-up for those young people as they finish up the school year strong and get ready for what’s ahead for them.”
Stump says he is also preparing for the upcoming National FFA Convention and is encouraging members to take part in the event.
The National FFA Organization serves more than a million student members across over 9,400 chapters nationwide.
