Contract talks between rails and unions are back on track

Talks between railroads and unions are back on track ahead of a mid-September deadline.

A board, created by the President, offered a plan that includes a 24 percent pay rise, with thousands of dollars in bonuses, but workers will take on a larger share of health benefits. Members of Congress and ag groups have called on the two sides to quickly settle their dispute.

A strike would deal a devastating blow to the already fractured ag supply chain.
