LANCASTER, Ky. (RFD-TV)Bradley Roy, a rookie and rising Major League Fishing competitor from Lancaster, Kentucky, made headlines as the youngest angler to compete in a Bassmaster Elite Series event. Roy is also among the 12 teams preparing to compete at next week’s MLF Team Series Patriot Cup in Oxford, Alabama, starting next Wednesday.

Roy joined us on Friday’s Market Day Report ahead of the event to preview his preparation, partnership, and background in the sport.

In his interview with RFD-TV News, Roy discussed his journey from a youth angler to competing professionally with Major League Fishing, described how he prepares for competitions when the venue is kept confidential, and explained his approach to fishing for his strengths rather than chasing trends.

He also talked about teaming with Hall of Famer Greg “The Rooster” Vinson for Team Fishing Clash, how the duo plans to coordinate strategy for the team-format event, and outlined the routines and preparation steps he relies on to get ready for major tournaments.

Finally, Roy shared about his recent experience hosting the Bradley Roy High School Open Tournament to support up-and-coming anglers.
