From One Extreme to Another: An update on conditions in California

Farmers in the Golden State are dealing with brutal conditions at the moment after facing a historic drought.

California’s National Guard shared this video of soldiers helping both CAL Fire and the state’s Office of Emergency Services deliver hay to stranded cattle in Humbolt County. The soldiers are up in the air, dropping down bales of hay to producers and you can see the winter mess those farmers are dealing with.

Looking further south in the state, Monterey County shared this photo on Twitter of the drastic flooding taking place! This is a result of the atmospheric river events that began last week. The Salinas River is expected to continue to flood nearby agricultural land today.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the farming community across the Golden State.
