Georgia Peanut Tour Highlights Work From Harvest to Market

The three-day tour highlights the work behind one of Georgia’s major crops.

SYLVANIA, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — Hundreds of peanut scouts recently gathered for the 2026 Georgia Peanut Tour, getting an up-close look at the crop’s supply chain from harvest to market.

Farm Monitor’s Damon Jones followed the tour as attendees visited the Sylvania Peanut Company, where they learned how peanuts are handled after leaving the field and prepared for shipment.

Organizers say the experience gives attendees a better understanding of the work that goes into bringing a quality crop to market and the role peanut production plays in rural Georgia.
