PERRY, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — A new attraction at the Georgia National Fair is giving visitors a closer look at one of the state’s most important crops.
The Georgia Pecan Growers Association partnered with the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Rural Center to create an interactive exhibit highlighting the history and importance of pecans in Georgia.
Farm Monitor’s John Holcomb visited the exhibit, where fairgoers could try their hand at cracking pecans, discover how the trees are grown and even join the debate over the correct pronunciation of “pecan.”
