The annual San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo attracts millions of visitors and exhibitors from all over the U.S.
Winning this year’s Grand Champion steer was 18-year-old Ashton Floyd from Denver City FFA! Floyd took home the honors with her light gray steer, Travis. The excitement did not stop there, though, as the team set a new record at the auction of $160,000. Floyd mentioned she named Travis after someone she looks up to.
San Antonio Express-News reported Floyd said the lessons she learned while raising Travis are invaluable, especially considering the connections shes made.
In a Facebook post, her mother sent their deepest gratitude for the village of people that have supported Floyd along this incredible journey.
