IAFB President on issues facing their farm sector

The pork industry is watching the Supreme Court to see if it will take up a challenge to California’s Prop 12.

Justices originally scheduled the case for their Friday conference last week, but it was moved to this Friday.

Ag groups are challenging the law that would ban pork sales to California, regardless of where the hogs were raised if they do not follow strict housing standards.

Iowa stands to lose the most from Prop 12, as the nation’s largest pig-producing state.

RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison had a chance to talk to Iowa’s Farm Bureau president about the issues impacting his state at the annual convention in Atlanta.
