The Iowa Department of Agriculture says an estimated 57 million grain bushels were lost after high winds ripped through the state last week.

The Department of Ag consulted with commercial co-ops, industry representatives, farmers and landowners to come up with the number. According to the co-ops, it will cost more than $300 million to remove and replace the grain bins that were damaged.

Because of the derecho, President Trump approved almost $4 billion in disaster aid for the state.
