Learn to Grow: How to Plant a Fig Tree

Have you ever wanted to have fresh figs at home but don’t have the faintest idea how to “fig"-ure it out? In this episode of “Learn to Grow,” Misilla takes you along as she adds a new fig tree to her garden.

The specific type of fig tree she’s planting is called “Little Miss Figgy” by Sunset is from their Western Garden collection. This tree bears beautiful and tasty purple figs. It also has a dwarf habit and can reach a height of 48 feet, with a three-to-four-foot spread, which makes it a great tree to grow in containers if you have limited space. However, it can also be planted in the ground in larger spaces.
