Let’s meet a cattleman who’s named to the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame!

There are new inductees to the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame! The University of Georgia College of AG introduces us to John C. Callaway, who has built a life around cattle and helped grow kids’ love for the industry.

A 1969 graduate of UGA, Callaway grew up on a farm in Coweta County and has spent most of his life working in agriculture. After graduating with a degree in animal science, Callaway joined UGA Extension as an assistant county agent.

In the 35 years, he was active in their junior livestock programs and has maintained a herd of beef cattle with mostly Angus and Simmental concentrations.

Ag leaders in Georgia say that one of Callaway’s biggest legacies is the impact that the youth he mentored have had on AG across the state.
