March Freeze Delays Corn Harvest for Louisiana Farmers

Some growers are seeing below-normal yields after a difficult start to the season.

GILBERT, La. (TWILA) — Corn harvest is underway in Louisiana, with some farmers still seeing the effects of a mid-March freeze.

Kam Harper, owner of Macon Ridge Planting Co., was forced to replant his entire corn crop after the freeze, delaying his season.

He is now hoping for an average crop, although many of his neighbors are seeing below-normal yields.
