In a year marked by trade battles and catastrophic weather throughout the American heartland, the land market, typically sluggish during spring and early summer, has been even slower than normal this year. But it looks like that is about to change.

Farmers National Company (Omaha, NE) reports that auction and listing activity have increased noticeably over the last month. Sam Kain, Area Real Estate Sales Manager for Farmers National, reports mostly stable land prices for Iowa land, and with stronger than expected returns at some recent auctions and larger than typical tracts coming up for sale soon, he is looking forward to a very busy fall. Real estate managers for other regions throughout the Midwest report similarly encouraging signs.
