Farmers are making critical decisions that could impact their operations and the Minnesota Pork Board is encouraging those farmers to seek help with stress if they need it.
Minnesota Pork Board President Jodee Haala says that it is important to recognize the signs of stress because pork farmers will be dealing with this issue for a while.
“For farmers, it’s okay to not be okay, and it’s essential to reach out for help,” she said. “We’ve got a great work ethic, resilient group of people that have been dealt one bad hand after another here, and it’s very important to reach out to those resources.”
The Pork Checkoff also has digital resources available regarding the current situation, emergency best management practices, and communication tools.
