The agriculture sector is closely monitoring the spread of High-Path Avian Influenza (HPAI H5N1) in dairy cattle. Eleven states have confirmed cases of HPAI H5N1 dairy herds, with the latest confirmed outbreak coming out of Minnesota.
Minnesota State Veterinarian Dr. Brian Hoefs joined us Friday on the Market Day Report with the latest information about the new case in his state.
In an interview with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander, Dr. Hoefs shared what he knows about the latest detection, how the situation is being addressed, their next steps, and any lessons learned from the incident. He also discussed HPAI’s impact on the state’s poultry industry and ag-industry-wide biosecurity measures to keep in mind.
