Must-Pass Measures: Which ag proposals are tied into the government’s year-end spending bill?

With less than two weeks left in the year, lawmakers are hoping to tack some important ag issues onto the massive year-end government funding bill.

Right now, the omnibus bill includes billions of dollars in disaster aid for producers; a compromise of the growing Climate Solutions Act, aimed at speeding up the development of carbon markets, but it is not expected to include any significant labor reforms, putting the Farm Workforce Modernization Act in danger.

It is an issue the next session will likely have to address.
