PBR 20/20

This year, the Professional Bull Rider is celebrating 20 years of innovation and unprecedented growth since the 20 founders voted to form the PBR and attempt to establish profession bull riding as a standalone sport.

Much of this reverential footage has gone unseen, even by the riders and contractors, since it originally aired. This is an opportunity for new fans and longtime supporters to celebrate the remarkable history of an extraordinary time in PBR’s past.

Included in this historic series will be every significant event as varied as the first World Finals in 1994 and Charlotte, N.C., a year later when the top riders accounted for six 90-plus point riders to back-to-back events in Tampa, Fl., in 1998 and 1999 when Bubba Dunn and Chris Shivers recorded two of the four highest-marked rides of all-time.

Dunn rode Promise Land for 96.5 points in 1998, while Shivers did the same a year later on Jim Jam.

Shivers also highlights the 2003 event in Colorado Springs that featured his #1 million matchup with Little Yellow Jacket.

Also included in this series of historic PBR events is the Friday night performance from the 1999 World Finals. Widely regarded as the “greatest night of bull riding,” Shivers and Terry Don West split the round-win with 96 point scores. Rounding out the Top 5 scores from the round were Murray (95.5 on Red Wolf), Sharp (94 on Jim Jam Skoal) and Jaron Nunnemaker (94 on Panhandle Slim).
