Quadruple The Fun: Lamb producer experiences extremely rare occurrence

When lamb producer Jeanette Norman of Tenneesse was prepping for her ewe to birth, she never thought that it would be something so rare. But when she walked out to the barn she found something unexpected: quadruplet lambs!

Statistically there is about a one-in-500 chance of an ewe delivering quadruplets, and those odds double when all four lambs survive, but the three girls and one boy are doing great!

Norman, raises Royal White Sheep and Royal White/Katahdin mix sheep and recently retired from a 30-year career at the United States Department of Agriculture.

Norman’s grandchildren, Lilah Abernathy Norman, left, and Hudson Jones Dickson, celebrated the birth of the lambs along with their grandmother.
