Reducing Wildfire Risks: The legislation introduced to do so through livestock grazing

Legislation has been introduced to encourage animal grazing to help mitigate wildfires.

Congressman Doug LaMalfa along with Gabe Vazquez out of New Mexico introduced the Utilizing Grazing for Wildfire Risk Reduction Act. It will direct the U.S. Forest Service to expand targeted grazing in fuel management programs to reduce wildfire risk. The lawmakers see this as a better chance at fighting fires on federal land.

This bill comes after the Smokehouse Creek Fire, one of the biggest in U.S. history.
