Researchers are working to create a better vaccine against ILT.
ILT is a contagious viral infection of chickens and pheasants that typically occurs in areas of dense poultry production. Researchers at North Carolina State University say they are making progress in a vaccine without some of the major side effects associated with the current one.
Animal health experts say controlling an ILT outbreak is often done through biosecurity measures and proper vaccine protocols.
