Rural entrepreneurs could capitalize on the overabundance of cowhides in landfills
There is currently an overabundance of cattle hides ending up in landfills. This is due to a lack of demand and increased use of fake leather, which is primarily made of plastic.
Leather & Hide Council of America President Steve Sothmann spoke with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander about if there are any opportunities for rural entrepreneurs to capitalize on the market, if there are any alternative uses for the hides, and what it will take to bring the automotive and fashion industries back to the table.
