New research shows computer data can help scientists breed more flavor into some of your favorite fruits. Over 7 years, 384 consumers came to the University of Florida lab to give their feedback on the flavors, and smell of different strawberry varieties. Researchers took the results and created an algorithm that can predict how good the berries will taste! Breeders can then use this artificial intelligence to help farmers grow strawberries that are the perfect size and taste. This is great news for Florida farmers. The sunshine state is the second largest strawberry producing region in the U.S.
