Senator Grassley: It may be difficult for the new E15 bill to pass in Congress

With the recent introduction of the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2022, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says it may be difficult for the new bill to pass in the lame-duck session of Congress.

On a call with ag reporters this week, he mentioned if the bill is not passed, it will be a priority in the new Congress.

“And then if you’re asking a federal passage here, I think that that’s a very difficult thing to get done this year. But we’re not going to stop fighting for it for sure.”

He adds the American Petroleum Institute supports the bill despite the oil industry’s longtime opposition to expanding biofuel production.
