Skip Ewing Brings New Album ‘Dragonfly’ to the Opry

‘Dragonfly’ arrives Friday ahead of Ewing’s Saturday Opry performance.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (RFD News) — Award-winning singer-songwriter Skip Ewing is releasing his new album, Dragonfly, ahead of a performance at the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday.

Ewing joined us on Thursday’s Market Day Music to discuss the new project and the inspiration behind its title.

In his conversation with RFD News, Ewing says the name came to him after encountering a dragonfly while spending time in the mountains near his home in Wyoming. After learning more about its connection to metamorphosis, he felt the symbolism reflected both the album and his own journey.

Ewing will perform three songs from Dragonfly at the Opry, including “Whiskey and You.” The album will be available Friday wherever music is streamed.

Knoxville native Neal Burnette-Irwin is a graduate from MTSU where he majored in Journalism and Entertainment Studies. He works as a digital content producer with RFD News and is represented by multiple talent agencies in Nashville and Chicago.
