NEW SALEM, N.D. (RFD News) — The Wheat Quality Council’s annual Spring Wheat Tour is underway as participants scout fields across North Dakota to evaluate crop conditions and estimate yield potential.
Dr. Sean Finnie joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report with an update from the road.
In his conversation with RFD News, Finnie said about 40 participants are taking part in this year’s tour. He said early observations point to an average crop with minimal disease pressure, although hot temperatures remain a concern.
Finnie also discussed the importance of the tour, saying it provides independent, boots-on-the-ground assessments of crop conditions while bringing together participants from across the wheat industry.
