Nebraska goes from too dry to too wet

Concerns about drought in Nebraska have subsided for the time being. Brownfield Ag New’s Ken Anderson brings us this video with an update on the farming conditions in the state.

This time last year, central Nebraska farmers were talking about drought with some areas not receiving rain for over a month, but that situation changed over Memorial Day weekend.

Nebraska farmer, Randy Uhrmacher states, “The top three inches were either powder dry or started to get hard... I hate to complain about rain but it would be nice if it could spread out a little bit.”

According to last week’s U.S. Drought Monitor, Nebraska was roughly 27 percent abnormally dry, but this week it is only 11 percent.
