Representative Jim Costa of California and Representative David Scott from Georgia both announce their candidacy for Chair of the House Ag Committee.
These are two of the most senior members of the committee.
Costa is a third generation farmer serving as Chair of the subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture. He was part of the conference committee for both the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills.
Scott was originally born on a farm in South Carolina and spent his childhood working on his grandparent’s farm. He has served in the House since 2002 and has been an active member of the ag committee.
