Effort to delay Massachusetts’s Question 3 until 2023 passes State House

Massachusetts lawmakers are close to delaying a measure similar to California’s Prop 12 which bans the sale of meat products from animals without a minimum amount of space.

Voters approved “Question 3" in 2016 and it was set to go into effect in January. The State House passed a law to delay it until 2023. The Senate has yet to vote.

So far, industry groups have been unsuccessful in getting courts to overturn Prop 12.
