HPAI possibly spread to four states; Maryland awaits results

Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been found in Florida, making it the fourth state to see the disease.

Another bird in Maryland is currently being tested.

The animals were harvested by hunters in January. Maryland officials say that they found a positive case near Rock Hall.

They have deferred to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to confirm their positive test.

Poultry growers in the area have been alerted.
