Talks are underway to extend the expiring Black Sea Grain Deal

A Russian delegation is in Geneva to talk with the United Nations.

The initiative has allowed Ukraine to export millions of tons of grain through the Black Sea region during the ongoing war with Russia, but its Foreign Ministry says it has not been involved in any recent talks about extending the agreement. Ukraine wants the deal extended for a year and an additional port added to the protection measures.

The United Nations, Turkey, and Ukraine held talks last week. The Black Sea Grain Deal is set to expire this Saturday.
