Tanya Tucker and Friends Collaborate on Cinematic Rendition of “On My Way To Heaven”

Tanya Tucker, Dennis Quaid, Kris Kristofferson, and John Carter Cash teamed up to create a cinematic rendition of “On My Way To Heaven,” seamlessly blending music and film to depict the transformative power of faith and friendship. The result is a reflective storytelling collaboration that delivers a hope-filled message of forgiveness and redemption.

Directed by John Carter Cash, the video features Kristofferson’s final acting performance and final audio recording before his passing in 2024. The music video was filmed and recorded in 2019 and debuts just days before Kris’s birthday on June 22. The song was written by Dennis Quaid and originally composed as a tribute to his mother on her 91st birthday. This new audio single releases on June 19th from Gaither Music Group for “New Music Friday.” The music video will debut as the “World Premiere” at The Grand Ole Opry on June 20, 2026 with the video and a performance from Tanya Tucker and Dennis Quaid.

Tanya stopped by RFD-TV Studios to talk about her long-time friendship with Dennis Quaid and working on the project.
