Team Kubota’s Nick Hatfield Gears Up for the MLF Summit Cup

Team Kubota’s Nick Hatfield joins us to talk about the Summit Cup — the fourth and final event in Major League Fishing’s Fishing Clash Team Series presented by Bass Pro Shops.

GREENEVILLE, TENN. (RFD-TV) — We are less than a week away from the Major League Fishing Summit Cup — the fourth and final event in the Major League Fishing Team Series. As we gear up for the big event, we are checking in with the Bass Pro Anglers to hear how they’re preparing. Bass Pro Angler Nick Hatfield of Greeneville, Tennessee, joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report for an update.

Hatfield came up through the ranks in the Phoenix Bass Fishing League, earning his first win back in 2017. He shared background on his time with Major League Fishing and highlighted key moments from his career.

With the event being held in unknown waters near Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana, Hatfield explained how he prepares for the unknown — balancing strategy, adaptability, and confidence.

He’ll be teaming up with pro angler Cole Floyd as part of Team Kubota, and says the team’s mindset heading into the competition is all about staying sharp, communicating, and staying calm under pressure.

One trend catching attention on the pro circuit is the use of “fuzzy dice” baits, which originated from Japanese anglers. Hatfield shared his experience experimenting with the lure and how innovation continues to shape the sport.

All in all, Hatfield says he is most looking forward to the challenge, the competition, and the chance to bring home a championship win for Team Kubota.
