CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (RFD News) — As part of the International Year of the Woman Farmer, Tennessee peach grower Julie Head is encouraging others to pursue agriculture, even if they have to start small.
She and her husband own Head Peach Company, a Pick Tennessee producer that connects consumers directly with local farms through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. What began with 100 peach trees has grown into a family operation where their children are involved in both the farm and the business.
Head says farming has taught her that success does not happen overnight. She encourages aspiring farmers to use the resources available to them, build relationships with local agricultural partners, and grow their operations over time rather than waiting for everything to be perfect.
