The side effects from this year’s drought are hurting livestock country

More cattle are being culled due to worsening drought.

It is preventing producers from keeping calves on pasture for an extended period and the high cost of grain is complicating matters.

During the pandemic last year, slaughter was at the highest level in a decade, but Drovers reports that the numbers are slightly higher so far this year. Hopefully, the incoming rain will be a welcome sign for livestock country.
