U.S. ag exports help boost economy despite slow grain travel

New numbers from USDA’s Research Arm found that every $1 of U.S. ag exports generated more than double that in domestic economic activity in 2022.

Despite a slowdown in grain travel right now, U.S. ag exports overall are helping put some major dollars into the economy.

New numbers from USDA’s Research Arm found that in 2022, every $1 of U.S. ag exports generated more than $2 of domestic economic activity, for a total of $412 billion. Also, they found the value of U.S. ag exports reached $197.4 billion.

Ag exports help draw demand for transportation services, packing materials, and employment opportunities.
