The U.S Apple Association donates to an emergency feed program for school kids.
$20,000 dollars will go to “Help Feed School Kids Now!” to ensure students who depend on the National School Lunch Program do not go hungry.
U.S. Apple’s Tracy Grondine says that each year they give to schools that support healthy eating initiatives.
“This past year we were unable to do it because of COVID. A lot of schools weren’t meeting in person and so we decided to give it to the Emergency Feeding Fund... to hit the front lines to get those most vulnerable students fed that aren’t going to the classroom, aren’t going to schools,” she states. “Communities, school districts have applied for grants. They allocate it based upon need and so it’s going to go for meals, even PPEs, snack-and-go packaging, anything to keep the kids healthy and safe.”
This is the fourth year U.S. Apple has donated money for its “Healthy Eating Initiative.”
