USDA agencies are suing the federal government over canceled union contracts

Some USDA agencies are suing the federal government over canceled union contracts.

USDA sent out notices this week to union leaders of the Animal Health and Food Safety Inspection Agencies. The administration says that the contract terminations are in line with President Trump’s executive order to exclude some federal workers from collective bargaining.

This is due to their national security missions.

The National Association of Ag Employees has filed a lawsuit challenging that claim, arguing that APHIS work is unrelated to national security.
