The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) faces a lawsuit for failing to require humane poultry handling at slaughter facilities.
The Animal Welfare Institute and Farm Sanctuary claim the actions resulted in contaminated products that violated the Poultry Products Inspection Act.
