Western Wish Comes True for Mississippi Family

August 22, 2017

Western Wishes, with the help of PBR, hosted by the Towe family from McHenry Mississippi at the 2017 Music City Knockout at Bridgestone Arena.

Jessica Hickman, daughter of Anthony and Kathy Towe reached out to Western Wishes about the far from normal life lead by her three siblings; Darrell Hickman, Savannah Towe (16) and Anthony Towe Jr (14).

In 2006, at the age of three, her brother Anthony was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia causing the loss of his left leg due to chemotherapy. In 2007, he relapsed with two types of Leukemia and went on to get a bone marrow transplant, which was successful in treating him. Later that year Anthony’s older brother Darrell was then also diagnosed with ALL leukemia which is very unusual that two siblings have the same type of cancer. In 2015, when their lives were just starting to get back to normal, Savannah was also diagnosed with ALL leukemia. With one year left of treatments for Savannah, Darrell relapsed in Nov 2015. Catching an infection under his arm, he was forced to stop chemotherapy and eventually lost his battle on March 10, 2016.

Savannah finished all of her treatments last year and is healthy thus far. This family who has seen horrific tragedies were able to enjoy one of their favorite sporting events and meet some of their heroes at the PBR event this past weekend.
