Youth in Action: Inspiring Georgia student honored by 4-H for community impact & leadership skills

Amiyah joined us Wednesday on Market Day Report to share how she got involved with 4-H as a youngster and the inspiration behind her non-profit, “I Am.”

Amiyah Elam, an inspiring young student from Georgia, was recently named one of four winners of the 2024 4-H Youth in Action Awards.

Elam is being recognized for creating a nonprofit, I Am, which focuses on mentoring under-served black girls by equipping them with opportunities, skill development, and confidence.

She joined us Wednesday on The Market Day Report to explain how the idea behind “I Am” came about, and why young girls need to have access to these kinds of mentoring opportunities. In her conversation with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender, she also shared how she became involved in 4-H, why other teens should get involved in the program, and what it means to her to be a Youth in Action winner.
