Tangipahoa Parish, La. (This Week in Louisiana Agriculture) — After more than 50 years in the cattle business, Louisiana producer Malcolm Braud says adapting has been the key to staying in business.
Rising production costs led Braud to shift from selling cattle through stockyards to selling most of his beef directly to consumers at local farmers’ markets.
Braud says the move has helped improve profitability while ultimately connecting customers with locally raised beef.
