Ag Sec. Brooke Rollins Made A Special Declaration For U.S. Forests

Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins has made an “Emergency Situation Determination” on national forest land.
She says that the move will clean up forests while boosting timber production.

She issued the memo this morning on more than 110,000 acres of land in the national forestry system.

It comes after President Trump’s executive order to boost U.S. timber production by 25%. Rollins says that the declaration will allow the Forest Service to clean forests deemed high risk for fire, while setting up rural communities for safe success in the years ahead.
