SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (RFD News) — Artificial intelligence has become a major topic in rural communities, especially as discussions continue around data infrastructure.
Caravan Health founder Lynn Barr joined us on Friday’s Market Day Report to discuss how AI could help address challenges in rural healthcare.
In her conversation with RFD News, Barr said access to healthcare remains one of the biggest challenges facing rural communities, pointing to shortages in primary care and maternal healthcare. She said the United States also lags behind many other developed nations because patient health information remains fragmented across providers and insurers.
Barr said improving access to secure health data could help AI better support doctors and nurses. She added it could also reduce administrative burdens and help providers respond more quickly during public health emergencies.
