CARTHAGE, Mo. (RFD News) — Cattle producers are navigating drought conditions as dry weather adds pressure to operations.
Jake Charleston with Specialty Risk Insurance joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to discuss Pasture, Rangeland and Forage (PRF) Insurance and how it can help producers during drought.
In his conversation with RFD News, Charleston said PRF can provide financial support when rainfall falls below set levels, helping producers cover costs such as hay and other supplies.
Charleston says the program is available to operations of any size nationwide. Producers can review their operation’s rainfall history and select intervals that best fit their needs ahead of the enrollment deadline in early December.
