Columbus, Ohio (RFD News) — Farmer confidence in agricultural biologicals has grown, with a new survey showing the market has entered a more mature phase as biofertilizers and biopesticides become more integrated into crop production decisions.
Stratovation Group CEO Cam Camfield joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report with the survey highlights.
In his conversation with RFD News, Camfield said awareness of agricultural biologicals is no longer the industry’s biggest hurdle, with 89 percent of surveyed row crop growers now familiar with the product category. He also said confidence in biofertilizers has risen significantly since Stratovation’s previous survey.
Camfield said the study also identified meaningful shifts in how farmers gather information, noting growers are placing more trust in university extension specialists and fellow producers when making crop input decisions.
Looking ahead, Camfield said interest in biologicals tends to increase when fertilizer prices rise, as farmers look for ways to improve nutrient use efficiency. He also said adoption of biopesticides is increasing among row crop producers.
