PERRY, GEORGIA (RFD News) — For many FFA members, lessons learned early on can shape a future in agriculture. For Samantha Lineberger, that is when her love for flowers blossomed.
“I was on the Floriculture CDE Team with FFA,” Lineberger said. “I love flowers, and I love designing. I always thought, ‘I’m going to be a florist’.”
Instead of working in a flower shop, today, Linberger finds herself growing flowers instead. She owns Arena Acres, where she grows flowers on land that has been in her family for four generations. She also uses her farm to help others better understand agriculture, especially as more people move into the area.
“It’s very important to keep what’s left of the farmland to show the people that are moving to Houston County how important agriculture is,” Lineberger said.
Arena Acres offers a summer flower subscription, giving customers a chance to bring locally grown blooms into their homes throughout the season.
